Punko.io Is Making Tower Defense Fun Again - Here's How

The tower defense genre exploded onto the scene around the iPhone and iPod Touch's 2007 launch. While playable on all platforms, touchscreens proved a perfect match, propelling this niche genre to massive popularity.

However, let's be honest—the genre hasn't significantly evolved since PopCap Games' 2009 release of Plants vs. Zombies. Many tower defense games exist, some excellent, including the Kingdom Rush series, Clash Royale, and Bloons TD. Yet, none truly replicated PvZ's charm and polish—until now, we believe.
