NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique YoRHa designs, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans: Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV. This guide details its location and key stats, obtainable during your first playthrough.
The Engine Blade isn't accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to progress as 2B and revisit the factory. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a quicker route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, follow the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially crushing presses. After crossing the press-laden belt, climb to a cylindrical area with spider-like enemies.
Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging falling explosive enemies. A railing ends midway, with an extending platform. Proceed towards the camera to trigger a 2D platforming section, traversing above presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.
Beware: More explosive enemies will drop from the ceiling as you approach.

This weapon allows four upgrades, eventually reaching a Light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, its damage range is tighter, offering more predictable damage output.
