STALKE2: Heart of Chornobyl presents crucial choices impacting gameplay. The mission preceding "Just Like the Good Old Days" varies based on player decisions in "Wishful Thinking." This main mission unlocks after completing either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," both concluding with an escape from SIRCAA.

Talk to Professor Lodochka at Wild Island

Initially, proceed to the Wild Island mission marker to locate Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp. However, a higher-priority objective emerges: eliminating nearby mercenaries. These enemies are conveniently marked on the map.

It's advisable to have robust equipment, as this isn't the only combat encounter. Eliminate all mercenaries to advance and locate Lodochka, triggering an optional objective: activating the ventilation system.

Activate the Ventilation System

To complete this side objective, consult your map for a marked fuse. After retrieving it, another marker appears to the north, leading to the engineering rooms. Be prepared for an invisible enemy within.

Navigate the shelter's passages to the engine room. Use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system, allowing mission progression. While this optional task offers no unique rewards, it simplifies the subsequent mission stages.

Find the Signal Source

Consider acquiring better weapons before proceeding, as the challenge intensifies. At the marked location, find a cave entrance near the water. Navigate westward through the caverns, descending and overcoming obstacles. A broken pipe provides access to higher cave levels.

Locate the large cone-shaped spire at the marked area. The emitter is found at the marked point beside it. An invisible enemy awaits on the return journey. Finally, report back to Lodochka to complete the mission, unlocking "Hornet's Nest" as the next main objective.
