Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops

Apr 11,2025 Author: Madison

Warhorse Studios has unveiled a substantial free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with version 1.2, bringing exciting new features to the game. This update introduces native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a novel barber shop system, enhancing the game's depth and player engagement.

The integration of Steam Workshop allows players to easily download and install mods directly within the game, eliminating the need for third-party platforms. However, this feature is contingent on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection of available mods is modest, with notable entries including:

  • Free Saving: Grants players unlimited saves by replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it’s used or lost.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing access to otherwise restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.

Although the current mod selection is limited, the modding community is poised to grow rapidly. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, it's likely that creators will start sharing their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop may not reach the same scale as Nexus Mods, popular mods are expected to become available soon.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. Choosing a new look temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a strategic element to personal grooming.

Update 1.2 extends far beyond these additions, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios reports over a thousand fixes and improvements across nearly every aspect of the game. These enhancements include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and improved NPC behavior. Notably, the crime system has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Other significant updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly in Kuttenberg (the largest city in the game) and during large-scale battles.

The studio plans to explore these changes in depth during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. Warhorse Studios remains dedicated to supporting the game, with three paid DLC expansions set for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the integration of Steam Workshop, new cosmetic options, and a plethora of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an even richer medieval experience.
