PlayStation Productions Unveils Slate of Game Adaptations at CES 2025
PlayStation Productions made a splash at CES 2025, announcing several new game adaptations for film and television. The January 7th presentation showcased a diverse range of projects, expanding the studio's already impressive portfolio.

Among the highlights was the announcement of a Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime series, a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Aniplex, set to premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2027. Directed by Takanobu Mizumo and with story composition by Gen Urobuchi, the series will feature original music from Sony Music.

Further announcements included film adaptations of Horizon Zero Dawn (produced by Sony Pictures) and Helldivers 2 (produced by Columbia Pictures). Details on both films remain scarce. Adding to the excitement, a film adaptation of Until Dawn was confirmed for release on April 25, 2025.

Neil Druckmann also took the stage, briefly discussing Naughty Dog's upcoming title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, before unveiling a new trailer for The Last of Us season two, expanding upon the story of The Last of Us Part II and introducing characters like Abby and Dina.

This expansion builds upon PlayStation Productions' previous successes, including the Uncharted film (2022), the Gran Turismo film (2023), and the Twisted Metal series (2023), which is currently in production for a second season. While the reception of earlier video game adaptations like Resident Evil and Silent Hill has been mixed, PlayStation Productions' recent efforts have demonstrated significant box office success.

The studio also confirmed ongoing projects, including film adaptations of Days Gone and a sequel to the Uncharted film, as well as a God of War television series. The continued success of these adaptations suggests that more PlayStation franchises will likely be adapted in the future.
