Developed by Ratatan Works, this game melds rhythm game dynamics with side-scrolling action in a roguelike setting. Players can look forward to engaging in online co-op with up to 4 friends and commanding up to 100 characters in massive melee battles. The game is being crafted by the mastermind behind Patapon, Hiroyuki Kotani, and features the musical talents of Kemmei Adachi, ensuring a soundtrack that resonates with fans of the original series. Ratatan Gameplay Trailer Reveals 4 Person Online Co-Op

In an exciting update from their Kickstarter page, Ratatan is set to launch its closed beta on February 27, 2025. Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared details about the game's progress, highlighting that Ratatan has now surpassed 100,000 wishlists on Steam and garnered positive feedback for their Original Soundtrack Demo. While the game won't be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, the team is channeling their efforts into refining the closed beta experience. The initial beta build will include gameplay up to Stage 1, with subsequent stages 2 and 3 being added during the month-long test period. Sakajiri emphasized that updates regarding code distribution, start date, and time will be shared via Discord and X as soon as they are finalized.

Ratatan is slated for a 2025 release across multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. While an exact release date remains under wraps, anticipation continues to build among fans eager to dive into this rhythm-action adventure.
