It's now official: Revue Starlight Re LIVE has announced its end of service (EOS). The servers are scheduled to shut down on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, marking the end of an era for this game based on the popular anime series Revue Starlight. After nearly six years on Android, the game will cease to exist in just a few months.
Why Has Revue Starlight Re LIVE Announced Its EOS?
Revue Starlight Re LIVE launched as a direct continuation of the Revue Starlight anime, seamlessly picking up where the series concluded. It offered players an engaging battle system, where they could strategize using the unique skills of the Stage Girls or opt for the auto mode to let the game take the reins.
However, the announcement of the EOS for Revue Starlight Re LIVE isn't a shock. Over the past five and a half years, the game struggled to maintain momentum. Players noticed several red flags, such as repetitive events, recycled assets, and an overwhelming number of battle passes that were pricey. Moreover, the narrative took unexpected turns, like the shift from The Giraffe to a mysterious girl and her toy bear, which didn't resonate well with the player base. It's worth noting that the servers in Japan are also shutting down, confirming a global closure for the game.
Despite its challenges, Revue Starlight Re LIVE had its strengths. The game's soundtrack, filled with songs from the anime, was a major highlight. Additionally, the stunning 3D graphics and Live2D animations provided a visually appealing experience for players.
Do You Want To Give It A Try?
Although the end is near, there are still a few weeks left to enjoy Revue Starlight Re LIVE. The developers are ensuring players can savor the remaining time with the game by launching new campaigns in August and September. One such initiative is the 'Thank You For Everything' Campaign, where players can claim 10 free pulls daily. Additionally, a two-month-long birthday celebration event is planned, along with two separate 'New Stage Girl Gacha' events at the start of each month. If you're interested in bidding the game a fond farewell, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
