Six new heroes are currently in development, offering players exciting new gameplay options. This article delves into the details of these new heroes, their skills, weapons, and backstories.

Deadlock's "10-24-2024" Update: Six Experimental Heroes Join the Fray

New Heroes, Name Changes, and Skill Overlap

Valve's Deadlock, a highly anticipated MOBA shooter, has consistently ranked high on Steam's Most Wishlisted games since its mid-2024 launch. The recent "10-24-2024" update is a major milestone, introducing six new playable characters.

These new heroes – Calico, Fathom (previously known as Slork), Holliday (also referred to as Astro in skill descriptions), Magician, Viper, and Wrecker – are currently exclusive to the Hero Sandbox mode. They are not yet available in standard or ranked PvP matches. While their complete skill sets are implemented, some abilities are temporary placeholders, mirroring existing hero skills. For instance, Magician's ultimate is a copy of Paradox's Paradoxical Swap.

The table below provides a preliminary overview of each hero's role and playstyle:

Hero Description
Calico A nimble, stealthy mid-to-frontline hero, specializing in unseen attacks and evasive maneuvers.
Fathom A short-range burst assassin, ideal for swift takedowns of key targets in close-quarters combat.
Holliday A mid-to-long-range DPS/Assassin who excels at eliminating enemies with precise headshots and explosive weaponry.
Magician A tactical, long-range DPS hero with the ability to manipulate projectiles, teleport, and swap positions with allies and enemies.
Viper A mid-to-long-range burst assassin who inflicts poison damage over time and can petrify groups of enemies.
Wrecker A mid-to-close-range brawler who utilizes troopers and NPCs as both weapons and projectiles in their attacks.
