"Dreadmoor: New PC Game Blends Fishing with Post-Apocalyptic Mystery"

Apr 22,2025 Author: Ethan

Developer Dream Dock has unveiled Dreadmoor, a thrilling new first-person single-player action-adventure game, drawing inspiration from the 2023 sensation Dredge. In Dreadmoor, players will take the helm of a fishing trawler, navigating the hauntingly beautiful post-apocalyptic Drownlands. The game promises an immersive experience where you'll fish, explore mysterious locales, battle terrifying monsters, craft essential items, upgrade your boat, and unravel the eerie secrets hidden within this submerged world. Dreadmoor is currently in development for PC, and fans can get a glimpse of what's to come by checking out the announcement trailer and the first screenshots in the gallery below.

Dream Dock provides a vivid description of Dreadmoor: "Step behind the helm of a fishing trawler and set sail into a world where, after a global nuclear war, continents have sunk beneath the waves, replaced by scattered islands and submerged ruins of ancient civilizations. Sell your catch to survivors, complete quests, and move one step closer to survival. Keep an eye on your ship’s cargo hold—creatures might devour each other! Upgrade your ship and craft equipment to explore hidden depths and secret locations. Mutated creatures and sinister mysteries lie hidden in the deep and within abandoned structures, especially at night. Beware of radiation, as the danger is even greater out there…"

In Dreadmoor, players will encounter over 100 species of fish, with the most challenging catches requiring unique and bizarre bait but offering substantial rewards. You'll need to scavenge for resources and explore both the surface and the depths of the Drownlands. If Dreadmoor piques your interest, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam to stay updated on its progress.
