Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a highly requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they're developing this functionality, absent from launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date remains unannounced, the addition is expected soon, possibly coinciding with the Season 2 update later this month. This news follows a January 9th update addressing various Multiplayer and Zombies bugs, including a reversal of controversial changes to Zombies' Directed Mode round timing.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's Twitter response to player requests confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." The lack of this feature in Black Ops 6, despite its inclusion in Modern Warfare 3 (both under the Call of Duty HQ app), drew significant fan disappointment. Its return will be particularly beneficial for players pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality mirrors Modern Warfare 3's system, providing a real-time in-game challenge tracker accessible via the UI.
More Improvements Incoming
Beyond challenge tracking, Treyarch also acknowledged working on another significant improvement: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This will eliminate the need for players to constantly adjust HUD preferences when switching between game modes. This too is described as "in the works."
