Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps
Marvel Rivals Season 1 continues to expand its offerings with a host of new maps, alongside the Fantastic Four heroes and cosmetic additions. These new maps immerse players in a dark, stylized version of Marvel's New York City, known as the "Empire of Eternal Night." Let's explore each one:
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Launched at the start of Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload-style mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across this rendition of a nighttime Midtown Manhattan. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands. Notable landmarks include the Baxter Building, Grand Central Terminal, Stark/Avengers Tower, Fisk Tower, Ardmore's Bookstore, and Timely Trend.
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
This map, featuring Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, is unique as the exclusive location for the game's Doom Match mode—a free-for-all deathmatch. The map is a visually stunning representation of Doctor Strange's home, filled with mystical elements, hidden secrets, and Easter eggs, including an appearance by Bats the Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Expected to launch later in Season 1, Central Park will feature a stylized Belvedere Castle as a central point of interest. This Gothic-style castle, situated at one of the park's highest points, will provide a fitting location within the Empire of Eternal Night theme.
These are all the confirmed new maps for Marvel Rivals Season 1, offering diverse gameplay experiences within a captivating nighttime New York setting.
