Expand Your Stardew Valley Farm with Multiple Pets!
This guide details how to acquire multiple pets in Stardew Valley, adding a touch of furry companionship to your farming endeavors. Initially, only one pet was allowed per save file, but the 1.6 update changed that.
Unlocking Multiple Pets:

To unlock the ability to adopt additional pets, you must first maximize your friendship level with your existing pet. This involves daily care:
- Daily Watering: Fill your pet's bowl with water using your Watering Can (except on rainy or snowy days).
- Daily Petting: Interact with your pet to receive a heart bubble.
Monitor your pet's friendship level via the "Animals" tab in the pause menu. Once maxed out, Marnie will send you a message, granting access to additional pets (or at the start of Year 2 if you initially skipped pet adoption).

Visit Marnie's shop (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, closed Mondays and Tuesdays) after receiving Marnie's message. Select "Adopt Pets" from the dialogue options.

Before or after adopting, commission Pet Bowls from Robin's shop. Each costs 5,000g and 25 Hardwood. These act as your pet's home, preventing friendship decay and runaway pets.
