Rocksteady Studios has unveiled Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for their live-service game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Released to mixed reviews in February 2024, the game saw an abrupt end to its support less than a year later, with Rocksteady confirming on January 14, 2025, that no further updates would be forthcoming. The last patch, now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, wraps up the game's journey.
Despite high hopes fueled by the intriguing premise of taking on the Justice League with a squad of anti-heroes, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League struggled with its live-service model, which many fans and critics felt detracted from the overall experience. On December 9, 2024, Rocksteady announced that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the game's swan song. While development is ceasing, the servers will continue to operate, allowing players to enjoy the game with friends.
Following a brief period of server maintenance, Season 4 Episode 8: Balance is now live. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can dive into new content featuring the Libra Infamy Set, inspired by the DC Super-Villain obsessed with balance, along with powerful new Notorious weapons and a climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. The update also brings several bug fixes and gameplay enhancements, including a reduction in XP requirements for Squad Levels.
Even after the final update, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will remain playable offline thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7. This ensures that players can still enjoy the game's campaign and seasonal missions without an internet connection. Although no server shutdown has been announced, the offline mode provides a safety net for fans.
For those who missed out on the game, it's currently available through PlayStation Plus until February 3, 2025, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
