Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their popular sandbox game, Teardown. They've announced the addition of a multiplayer mode, which has been a long-awaited feature requested by the community. Alongside this, they're launching the Folkrace DLC, which promises to enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players can look forward to competing in diverse events, earning rewards, and customizing their vehicles to excel on the tracks.
The multiplayer feature will initially be available through Steam’s Experimental Branch, allowing players early access to test and provide feedback. Tuxedo Labs is particularly keen on input from the modding community, as they will also release updates to the game’s API. These updates will enable modders to adapt their creations for use in multiplayer settings.
This announcement signifies the fulfillment of a vision that Tuxedo Labs has held for some time. At launch, players can access the multiplayer mode via the "Experimental" branch on Steam, while the team concurrently rolls out API updates to support mod integration in multiplayer environments. Once the testing phase concludes, multiplayer will become a permanent fixture of Teardown.
Looking to the future, Tuxedo Labs teased that two more major DLCs are on the horizon, with more information slated for release later in 2025. This ongoing development showcases their commitment to expanding and enhancing the Teardown experience for players.
