During the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, Pokémon unveiled plans to bring back "Trainer’s Pokémon" to the TCG. The announcement was accompanied by a thrilling teaser trailer featuring well-known trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside hints of a Team Rocket resurgence.

Trainer’s Pokémon cards, a hallmark of the game's early days, represent Pokémon owned by specific trainers or characters. These cards are distinguished by their unique abilities and distinctive artwork.
