A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what's in store. The trailer, which was initially showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account. It depicts the harrowing journey of survivors from a spaceship ravaged by a Xenomorph, now hurtling towards Earth.

The trailer not only introduces a new Xenomorph design but also showcases how closely Alien: Earth mirrors the aesthetic of Ridley Scott's groundbreaking 1979 horror film. A scene set in a MU/TH/UR control room strikingly resembles the one aboard the Nostromo, where Ripley uncovered the dire situation of her crew.
In the trailer, a crew member desperately seeks help, pounding on a sealed door as the Xenomorph closes in. Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, appears indifferent to her distress, announcing that the "specimens are loose," declaring the crew dead, and setting the ship's course for Earth. The trailer then shifts to six soldiers advancing towards what appears to be the crashed ship, hinting at a grim outcome for them.
The trailer raises numerous intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there any other survivors? Has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? And how will the soldiers meet their fate?
Alien: Earth sets the stage for a mysterious space vessel crashing on Earth, where a young woman (played by Sydney Chandler) and a group of tactical soldiers make a pivotal discovery that pits them against the planet's most formidable threat.
FX's *Alien* series is set in 2120, positioned after *Prometheus* and just before the events of the original *Alien*. This timeline has led fans to speculate that *Alien: Earth* might show the Nostromo's departure from Earth or reveal how Weyland-Yutani learned about the Xenomorphs. For context, the recently released *Alien: Romulus* is set between *Alien* and *Aliens*.
In January of last year, showrunner Noah Hawley discussed his decision to diverge from the backstory established in Prometheus for Alien: Earth. He expressed a preference for the "retro-futurism" of the original films and, after consulting with Ridley Scott on various aspects of the Alien series, chose to focus on the lore of the initial movies rather than the bioweapon narrative.
Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025, with Alien: Romulus 2 also in development.
