The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their much-anticipated debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global. Alongside their arrival, these powerful Pokémon come with brand-new Adventure Effects that can significantly enhance your gameplay experience outside of battle. Make sure to leverage the Tour Pass to maximize your earnings and fully enjoy what the event has to offer.
Black Kyurem's Freeze Shock ability envelops wild Pokémon in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing them and making them much easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, greatly aiding in achieving those coveted Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended by 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a maximum total duration of 24 hours.
During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. Once you fuse Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn will replace Glaciate. Remember, these moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. It's important to note that currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

You'll also have the choice between two event badges: the Black Version (Reshiram) or the White Version (Zekrom). Choosing the Black Version means any Kyurem you encounter after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll earn Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version will grant you Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.
To enhance your progression, consider using the Tour Pass, which not only unlocks rewards but also boosts your Adventure Effects. You can accumulate Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs. Alternatively, you can accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone you achieve will increase your Catch XP and extend the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
For those looking to maximize their event experience, upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe offers additional benefits. This premium option grants you an immediate encounter with Victini, more event-themed encounters, an avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with someone on your Friend List, enhancing your next trade.
The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event will run from February 24th to March 2nd, offering a thrilling opportunity to engage with these legendary Pokémon and their unique abilities.
