Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details of their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a new currency: "herd." The size of the ruler's herd directly impacts their authority and influences key gameplay mechanics, including military might, cavalry unit composition, and the dynamics of lord-subject relationships.
The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant migration. A ruler's movements will be strategically determined by various factors, requiring them to either negotiate peacefully with settled populations or forcibly displace them.
Furthermore, players will manage transportable yurts, similar to adventurer camps. These yurts can be customized with upgrades offering various advantages.
The expansion also introduces iconic yurt towns, mirroring the adventurer camp mechanic. These mobile settlements can be enhanced with additional structures, each providing unique benefits.
