Dating in Fields of Mistria: Is It Possible?

Apr 14,2025 Author: Allison

NPC Studio’s *Fields of Mistria* has earned a reputation for its well-crafted marriage candidates and dialogue, along with thoughtfully designed romance questlines. But can you actually date the romance options in *Fields of Mistria*? Let's dive in.

The short answer is no – not yet, at least. However, after spending over 100 hours trying to win over March, I can confidently say that the current romance system in *Fields of Mistria* is well worth exploring and justifies the $13.99 price tag on Steam.

In the first major update of *Fields of Mistria* back in November 2024, the game increased its heart cap from four to six hearts and added a new heart event for each romanceable NPC to celebrate relationship milestones. These events unlock at two, four, and six hearts, with NPC Studio planning to introduce eight- and ten-heart events in future updates. However, no specific dates or details have been shared beyond the upcoming March 2025 update, which won't include an increase in the heart level cap or new heart events.

While the idea of taking on more quests around Mistria is exciting, new players might be disappointed by the current halt in romance development. Nevertheless, *Fields of Mistria* shines with its romance system as it stands. The game's dialogue is rich and realistic, often veering into satisfyingly flirty territory when it comes to romance options.

The heart events are equally impressive. Although early cutscenes could be interpreted as platonic, they're ambiguous enough to allow for romantic readings, especially in their settings. As your relationships progress, they grow deeper, making the romantic pacing in *Fields of Mistria* exceptionally rewarding, even without official dates.

New players shouldn't dismiss *Fields of Mistria* just because you can't date yet. The last major update introduced the Shooting Star Festival, a summer event that lets you initiate a date-like experience with eligible NPCs once you reach four hearts with them. Currently, you can also spend the evening watching the stars with Caldarus, though this doesn't trigger a date at the Summit location like it does with other romance options. This might change with the game's March 2025 update, which is expected to unlock the dragon's romance questline.

For now, while you can't officially date the NPCs in *Fields of Mistria*, the game offers enough romantic content to keep players engaged until dating features are fully implemented.

NOTE: Fields of Mistria is currently in Early Access and content is subject to change. The above information is accurate as of Version 0.12.4 and will be updated as necessary if anything changes.

Fields of Mistria is available to play now in Early Access.
