Koei Tecmo has released a new trailer for Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation PRISM, a romance game expanding on their popular Dead or Alive fighting game franchise. Launching March 27th on PS5, PS4, and PC, a special global version with English text will be available in Asia.
The game features mini-games, character customization, and a vibrant tropical island setting. Developers promise numerous ways to build relationships with the heroines and immerse yourself in the romantic storyline. Venus Vacation PRISM offers a unique experience for Dead or Alive fans, diverging from the franchise's fighting game roots while retaining its distinctive style.
However, even this venture highlights the ongoing tension between fan creation and developer control. Each year, the Dead or Alive publisher removes approximately 200-300 doujinshi and 2,000-3,000 images featuring the game's characters. The Dead or Alive series, known for its gameplay and attractive female characters often depicted in swimwear, inspires significant fan-created "adult" content. While appreciating fan art, the developers actively combat the proliferation of unauthorized material.
