Neutronized, the creative force behind hits like Shovel Pirate, Slime Labs 3, Super Cat Tales, and Yokai Dungeon: Monster Games, has recently launched a new platformer called Shadow Trick. True to Neutronized's signature style, Shadow Trick is a concise, enjoyable, adorable, and straightforward game with a nostalgic 16-bit pixelated art style. Best of all, it's free to play.
What Do You Do In Shadow Trick?
In Shadow Trick, you take on the role of a wizard with the unique ability to transform into a shadow to solve puzzles. This innovative mechanic requires you to switch between your physical and shadow forms to uncover secrets, dodge traps, and sneak past enemies.
Set within a magical castle, the game features 24 levels spread across various tricky biomes, each fraught with hidden dangers and formidable bosses. Your mission is to collect three moon crystals hidden within each level, totaling 72 crystals. These crystals are crucial for unlocking the game's complete ending. To collect all the crystals, you'll need to defeat bosses without taking any damage, which can be quite challenging, especially with tricky foes like the red ghost that can vanish and reappear unexpectedly.
The game's environments are diverse, offering unique experiences such as water levels where you float as a shadow and encounter distinctive fish bosses. This variety adds depth and excitement to the gameplay.
