Updated December 24, 2024: Another week dawns in Destiny 2, bringing a fresh wave of missions, challenges, and rewards. While the game currently sits between acts, the ongoing narrative includes concerns about a declining player base. This isn't unprecedented, but current issues like bugs, controversies, and general gameplay concerns seem to be contributing factors.

For now, The Dawning event continues, offering a final opportunity to bake cookies and reap the rewards. Bungie has added a community challenge element to boost the drop rate of three rare emblems. They've already revealed the impressive number of cookies baked for Commander Zavala – well over 3 million at the time of this writing!

Regardless, the weekly reset is here, delivering the usual updated content. Here's a comprehensive overview of what awaits for the week of December 23rd, including Nightfalls, Crucible modes, and challenges.

Weekly Nightfall and Modifiers

Nightfall Strike: The Inverted Spire

Advanced Modifiers:

• Champions: Barrier and Overload
• Hero Modifiers: Extra Shields, Solar, Void, and Arc.
• Galvanized: Increased combatant health and stun resistance.
• Overcharge: Enhanced Shotgun and Kinetic Weapon damage when subclass matches an active Surge element.
• Threat: Void
• Surge: Void and Arc

Expert Modifiers:

• All Advanced Modifiers.
• Equipment Locked: Equipment changes are disabled once the mission begins.
• Randomized Banes: Combatants receive random Banes.
• Expert Modifiers: Extra Shields

Master Modifiers:

• All Expert Modifiers.
• Haste: Health regeneration increases with movement speed; standing still inflicts damage.
• Master Modifiers: Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Grandmaster Modifiers:

• All Master Modifiers.

• Chaff: Radar is disabled.

• Grandmaster Modifiers: Extinguish, Limited Revives, Join In Progress Disabled, Contest, Locked Loadout, Extra Champions, and Extra Shields.

Week 12

• Narrowing The Odds - Craft 5 tonics increasing specific weapon drop chances.
• Moon Activities - Earn progress on the Moon via bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.
• Popping Off - Shatter 150 combatant shields with matching damage types in Vanguard or Gambit playlists.
• Instrumented Performance - Achieve 150 final blows with Special ammo in Gambit, Crucible, or Vanguard Ops. Bonus progress for Shotgun/Grenade Launcher final blows or Guardian defeats.
• Momentum Crash - Defeat 50 Guardians in Momentum Control. Bonus progress with Zone Advantage.

Exotic Mission Rotation

Bungie has reintroduced various exotic missions offering rewards, gear, and craftable exotic weapons. This rotation updates weekly.

Featured Exotic Mission: Presage (Dead Man's Tale Exotic Scout Rifle)

Raid and Dungeon Rotation

Introduced in Season 17, this weekly rotation allows farming of Raids and Dungeons with updated rewards. Two of each are featured weekly.
