Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Following the March 2025 update for Fields of Mistria, you can discover Essence Stones inside chests scattered throughout the mines. I stumbled upon my first stone while hunting for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, but keep your eyes peeled—chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious of mimic enemies that mimic chests but will harm you upon interaction.

You can collect Essence Stones in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. While smaller stones are more common, larger ones are out there if you're willing to explore. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery, which you can build within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery in Fields of Mistria. This feature comes with a new story quest added in the March 2025 update, requiring you to construct the refinery from scratch within the mines. After completing the necessary quests, Adeline will enlist your help, alongside Olric and Errol, to get this done.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather these materials:

• x200 Wood
• x400 Stone
• x5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using just Stone and Essence. The quantity of materials needed varies depending on the size of the stone. Check out the crafting requirements below:

In addition to Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery allows you to craft various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable hub for crafting supplies essential for new constructions and projects in Mistria.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update finally introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to Fields of Mistria, both of which require Essence Stones to function. Larger stones provide a longer-lasting charge, with Large Essence Stones offering the most extended duration.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. With an Essence Stone powering it, all animals inside will be automatically petted each day. You can find this rare statue in a hidden cave next to Errol’s house in the Narrows by using the Dragon’s Breath spell on the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues if needed.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which you can place anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more of these statues to cover more of your farm. Locate the statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, just beyond the Lighthouse area. Swim over and use Dragon’s Breath to access the entrance.

Essence Stones are set to play an even more significant role in Fields of Mistria with future updates from NPC Studio.
