Exploring Dynasty Warriors: Origins' overworld yields various rewards beneficial for future battles. While Pyroxene farming creates gems, you'll also discover Old Coins, whose purpose isn't immediately apparent.
Several methods exist for acquiring Old Coins, and you'll accumulate many of the game's hundreds. Here's their use and acquisition methods.
Old Coins are unusable in Chapter 1; focus on the main story. After Chapter 2, complete these main story battles:
Completing these battles leads you back to Ji, where you'll meet Sima Hui. After the conversation and obtaining incense for the Innkeeper, the Shui Jing Retreat appears near Ji. Here, you can exchange Old Coins with Sima Hui. You can also review bonds and past interactions.
Rewards are tied to specific Old Coin milestones; redeem them whenever possible.
