Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Confirmation Emails Sent, Scams Emerge
FromSoftware has begun distributing confirmation emails for the highly anticipated Elden Ring Nightreign network test, announced via Twitter (X) on January 30th, 2025. Excited fans are sharing their confirmations, eagerly awaiting the upcoming playtest.
A follow-up email containing a unique download code for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S test client will be sent on February 11th, 2025. The registration period ran from January 10th to January 20th, 2025, and unfortunately, no further test dates have been announced for those who missed the initial registration.
The Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Itself
FromSoftware describes the network test as a crucial "preliminary verification test" involving selected players experiencing a portion of the game before its official launch. This large-scale test will rigorously assess the online systems' capacity to handle numerous concurrent players. The test runs from February 14th to 16th, 2025, offering five 3-hour sessions:
- Session 1: February 14th, 3 AM – 6 AM PT
- Session 2: February 14th, 7 PM – 10 PM PT
- Session 3: February 15th, 11 AM – 2 PM PT
- Session 4: February 16th, 3 AM – 6 AM PT
- Session 5: February 16th, 7 PM – 10 PM PT
Beware of Scams and Scalpers!
Reports indicate a surge in fraudulent activity on Steam, with malicious invites circulating for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. These deceptive invites lead to suspicious websites, potentially compromising accounts and spreading the scam via mass messaging. FromSoftware emphasizes that official registration and confirmation occurred solely through their website and social media channels. Any links outside these sources should be treated with extreme caution.
Exploiting the excitement, scalpers are already listing purported "confirmed test codes" on various online marketplaces for exorbitant prices ranging from $150 to $200, with some even auctioned off. Remember, codes won't be available until February 11th.
