In *Fields of Mistria*, you can build friendships with almost everyone, but romance is limited to a select group of 11 NPCs, including the intriguing Caldarus, as of the v0.13.0 update. Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that you can fill through various interactions.
To kindle a romance, engage with your chosen character daily. Simple conversations can significantly boost their affection towards you. Additionally, fulfilling their requests posted on the town board provides more opportunities to increase their heart gauge.
Gifting is another powerful tool at your disposal. You can give one gift per day, ideally something the character loves or likes. These items vary between characters and can be gathered or crafted. On their birthday, gifting an item they love will yield an extra boost to their heart gauge.
Keep in mind that currently, the heart gauge for NPCs can only reach up to six hearts. After reaching this milestone, a cutscene with your chosen NPC will hint at budding feelings, though not a full romance yet. Future updates, as outlined in the game’s roadmap, will introduce 8 and 10-heart events, along with options for marriage and children, ensuring your romance can flourish further.
Juniper, a romanceable character in *Fields of Mistria*, spends her time either searching for witchcraft ingredients or managing her bathhouse in the northeastern part of town. To romance her, you should visit her frequently, complete her town board requests, and gift her items she appreciates.
Juniper has specific items she loves and likes. Her birthday falls on the **26th day of Fall**, making it the perfect opportunity to give her a gift she loves, which significantly boosts her heart gauge. Avoid giving her items she dislikes, including all universal dislikes and **Sod**.
