Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Cheer!

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, reintroducing classic items such as the Cluster Clinger. The excitement continues with the return of Winterfest, complete with event quests, festive items like Icy Feet and Blizzard Grenades, and exciting new skins featuring Mariah Carey and others.

December is proving to be a packed month for Fortnite. Beyond the Winterfest celebrations, which blanket the island in snow and offer rewards from the Cozy Cabin, the game boasts collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077, Batman Ninja, and more. But the fun doesn't stop there.

The latest hotfix, while seemingly minor, is a major win for longtime fans. The popular Fortnite OG mode welcomes back the Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 favorite. Before the introduction of vehicles and other mobility options, Launch Pads were the ultimate traversal tool, providing aerial advantages and swift escapes.

Fortnite Revisits Classic Weapons and Gear

  • Launch Pad
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only returning item. The Hunting Rifle (Chapter 3) makes a comeback, offering long-range combat capabilities, particularly welcome given the absence of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also reappear, available in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

The OG mode's success is undeniable. Epic Games reported 1.1 million players within the first two hours of its launch. Accompanying the mode is an OG Item Shop, featuring classic skins and items for purchase. However, the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
