Some video games send your heart racing with intense action — that's what makes them thrilling. Others slow your breathing and lull you into relaxation — those are equally wonderful.
Frike, the debut Android game from indie developer chakahacka, uniquely blends both experiences at once.
Your objective in Frike is simple: survive as long as possible. You control a floating triangle divided into purple, orange and green sectors. The left side of your screen features climb and descend controls, while the right button rotates your triangular avatar.
Frike contains just one level — but this isn't a limitation, because that level stretches infinitely. You'll never reach the end.
The game's atmospheric abstract world contains blocks of various colors — white, purple, orange and green. Score points by rotating your triangle to match its colored corners with corresponding blocks.

Collide with too many mismatched or white blocks and your triangle shatters dramatically.
Special blocks contain power-ups that temporarily slow time, giving you breathing room to line up your next move.
Frike exemplifies minimalist arcade perfection. Competitive players will find tense challenges, while casual gamers can simply enjoy flowing through its soothing abstract landscapes.
Complementing its understated visuals, Frike features a calming soundtrack of resonant chimes and delicate metallic tones.
If this unique blend of challenge and relaxation appeals to you, Frike is available for free download on the Google Play Store.
