Nvidia Unveils RTX 50 Series GPUs with DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation at CES 2025
Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote showcased the RTX 50 series GPUs, featuring groundbreaking DLSS 4 technology with Multi-Frame Generation, boosting FPS in 75 games. Initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, this feature will significantly enhance performance, as demonstrated by a Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark showcasing a frame rate increase from under 30 FPS to 236 FPS on the RTX 5090.
The RTX 50 series, codenamed Blackwell, builds upon the Ada Lovelace architecture with improvements to DLSS, including Multi-Frame Generation for faster FPS increases compared to its predecessor. The flagship RTX 5090, boasting 32GB of GDDR7 memory, will launch at $1,999, with the RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 priced at $999, $749, and $549 respectively.
While DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation are initially exclusive to the RTX 50 series, Nvidia confirmed that enhanced DLSS features like Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA will be available for older RTX 40 series cards via future driver updates. Future titles, such as Doom: The Dark Ages, will also leverage Multi-Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction.
