Google Play Awards 2024 Winners Unveiled

Google just unveiled its top picks for the best apps, games, and books of 2024, revealing a mix of expected and unexpected winners. Curious to see who took home the coveted Google Play Awards 2024 trophies? Read on to discover all the victors!

The Standout Performers:

The title of Best Game of the Year went to AFK Journey, a fantasy RPG from Farlight and Lilith Games. Its expansive world, stunning visuals, and epic battles featuring a massive roster of characters secured its victory. While the win for an "Away From Keyboard" idle game might be surprising to some, Google clearly recognized the game's exceptional exploration and artistic merit.

Supercell's Clash of Clans claimed the Best Multi-Device Game of the Year award, a testament to its successful expansion beyond mobile platforms to PCs and Chromebooks. Players can now engage in village raiding, army building, and clan dominance across phones, tablets, and desktops.

Other notable winners include Supercell's Squad Busters, which won Best Multiplayer Game, and NetEase Games' Eggy Party, taking home the Best Pick Up & Play award for its accessible gameplay.

A surprising win in the Best Story category went to Solo Leveling: Arise. While its narrative might not be universally acclaimed, its popularity among players evidently impressed Google. This was, arguably, the most unexpected win of the Google Play Awards 2024.

The Best Indie title was awarded to Yes, Your Grace, developed by Brave at Night and published by Noodlecake. This RPG, initially released on PC in 2020, has quickly gained popularity since its Android debut this year.

Honkai: Star Rail continued its reign as a fan favorite, winning Best Ongoing for its consistent updates and abundant content. Tab Time World by Kids at Play secured the Best for Families award, while Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance was the Play Pass subscriber's choice. Finally, Cookie Run: Tower of Adventures took the prize for Best Google Play Games on PC.

What are your thoughts on the Google Play Awards 2024 winners? Let us know in the comments! Next up, we'll delve into Stumble Guys' exciting winter event lineup.
