Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has reaffirmed that *Grand Theft Auto 6* (GTA 6) is on track for a fall 2025 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. This confirmation came as part of the company's financial results report for the third quarter ending December 31, 2024, signaling no delays at this stage.
In a conversation with IGN prior to the financial report's release, Take-Two's CEO Strauss Zelnick expressed confidence in meeting the fall 2025 deadline for GTA 6, despite acknowledging the inherent risks of project slippage. "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things," Zelnick noted. "So we feel really good about it."
When asked about the development progress of GTA 6, Zelnick remained cautious, highlighting the anticipation surrounding the game both within the company and among fans. "We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited," he stated.
The release date of GTA 6 is a highly anticipated event in the entertainment industry, with competitors closely monitoring Rockstar's moves. EA CEO Andrew Wilson recently hinted at adjusting the release schedule of the new *Battlefield* game based on the timing of other major releases, likely referring to GTA 6.
