*Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii* introduces Goro Majima with two unique fighting styles, one of which is the "Sea Dog" pirate style, boasting four powerful finishers perfect for tackling large crowds. However, securing all the dark instruments in this game is no small feat.
The Dark God’s Violin is the first of the Dark Instruments you can unlock in Pirate Yakuza, and it's crucial for progressing through the main storyline. You'll encounter it in Chapter 2 when a crew member, Jason, leads you to meet an old friend. This meeting quickly turns sour as you confront the Devil Flag pirates, who have killed Jason’s friend and stolen the Pharoh Stone.
Following this, you'll meet Misaki, the orphaned daughter of the slain friend, who joins your crew to avenge her father. This sets off a side story that leads you to the islands east of Madlantis. Here, you'll face a formidable fleet of Devil Flag pirates. Focus your attacks on the boss ship to progress to a battle onboard, where defeating the Devil Flags rewards you with the Dark God’s Violin. You'll then have the chance to test this new finishing move in a 100-enemy brawl on the island.
After the brawl, a cutscene introduces the fleet's captains: Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus, who challenge you to a showdown. While not necessary for the main story, defeating all Devil Flags is required to collect all Dark Instruments.
After securing the Dark God’s Violin and engaging in the initial 100-enemy brawl, you'll notice Devil Flag markers on the seas. Defeating these ships earns you Devil Flags, and you'll need 70 to progress further. Engage every Devil Flag you encounter to quickly amass these flags.
Once you have 70 flags, Atali Island becomes available. Prepare a strong landing party, as you'll face multiple waves of attackers before reaching the treasure chest that holds the Dark God’s Ocarina. You must defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza to claim it.

Following the defeat of Captain Yakuza, you'll learn of a ruse involving the Pharoh Stone's location, leading to another 100-enemy fight. Use this opportunity to test your new Dark God’s Ocarina.
Your next target is Zeus, who's headed to Flame Island. You'll need a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags to proceed. Sail to the Flame Entrance Lighthouse, triggering a cutscene and opening up four treasure islands: Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat. Remember, you can't use health items on these islands, so ensure Goro and his crew are well-prepared.
After conquering these islands, you'll face another fleet battle. Focus on the boss ship, board it, and defeat the first mate to land on Flame Island. Choose Jason, Masaru, Minami, and Saejima for this mission. After several smaller battles, you'll confront Captain Ronin. Use your Dark Instruments to defeat him and claim the Dark God of the Earth’s Guitar.
The Dark God’s Saxophone is the final Dark Instrument, requiring a Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags. Engage in main story missions, recruit crew members, and participate in mini-games and side quests to achieve this rank.
Sail to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse, triggering a cutscene and a battle with the Devil Flag’s Fleet. Four additional islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial) are available for plundering and collecting more Devil Flags.
Defeat Captain Shinobi’s First Fleet before landing on Frost Island. Navigate through battles and a cave to reach a recovery area, then face Captain Shinobi in the final boss fight. After defeating him, a cutscene with Zeus unfolds, where he takes Misaki hostage, and you obtain the Dark God’s Saxophone.
The last boss encounter involves defeating Zeus and rescuing Misaki, a challenging two-stage battle. While not necessary for collecting the Dark Instruments, it's a fitting conclusion to your journey.
And that is how you obtain all Dark Instruments in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
