In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quest "Canker" is an early mission you can tackle after completing "The Jaunt." It's a great opportunity to snag a mace or some extra Groschen, so let's dive into how to successfully complete this quest.
Pick Up the Canker Side Quest

To initiate the "Canker" quest, you need to have a conversation with Gules at Semine. You can conveniently pick up this quest during the wedding of Lord Semine and Agnes by speaking to Gules while he's enjoying a drink beforehand. Alternatively, you can start the quest earlier by visiting Semine and speaking to Gules during his patrol. Ask him about his past as part of a bandit group and offer your assistance in eliminating the remaining threats. Canker, a former bandit, will be your first target.
Find and Kill Canker

Once you've accepted the quest, Canker’s location will be marked on your map, just north of Nebakov Mill. Be cautious as the path leading there is often littered with bandits ready to ambush you. You have the option to stealthily bypass them, engage in combat, or simply flee. While these random bandits aren't typically challenging, it's frustrating to lose health before reaching your main target.
The bandit camp where Canker resides is nestled in the mountains, and it's easy to overlook because you must pass through a narrow gap to reach it, similar to accessing the Hermit's house in the "Wedding Crashers" quest. Gear up for a fight before entering, as you'll confront several bandits along with Canker. Depending on your combat strategy, some bandits might flee, but you'll need to take down most of them. Fortunately, Canker won't escape, ensuring you can complete the quest by defeating him.
Finish the Quest and Return to Gules
After defeating Canker and his companions, loot his body to collect the Light Mace, which serves as proof of your success. Feel free to take any other items that catch your eye. With the mace in hand, head back to Gules to complete the "Canker" quest.
After concluding "Canker," you'll need to wait a full in-game day before you can pick up the next related quest. Once the day has passed, speak with Gules again to start "Handsome Charlie," continuing your journey against his former bandit associates.
