Quick Links

In Hyper Light Breaker, players navigate a world teeming with seven vital resources essential for acquiring gear, unlocking permanent upgrades, enhancing survivability, and expanding your character roster. While the acquisition and utilization of these resources might initially seem complex, this guide aims to clarify how each one works, ensuring you make the most out of your adventure.

You can easily keep track of your resources by checking the items tab within the inventory menu, providing a clear view of what you have collected.

How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker

Bright Blood stands as the most common resource you'll encounter in Hyper Light Breaker. You can gather it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and opening crates in the Overgrowth. Additionally, selling gear to vendors in the Hub will net you some extra Bright Blood.

Here's how you can use your Bright Blood:

  • Loot Blades and Rails from bodies in the Overgrowth.
  • Unlock Stashes and other crates in the Overgrowth.
  • Buy new gear from vendors in the Overgrowth and Hub.
  • Enhance your gear at Hub vendors.

How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker

Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles. Early on, expect to finish your Cycles after four deaths and exhausting all your Rezes. Once you've used up your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub to meet an NPC. Hand over the required materials to reset the Overgrowth and progress toward earning Gold Rations.

Gold Rations are crucial for meta-progression. They allow you to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub. Moreover, you can use Gold Rations to unlock new services from the Hub's vendors, enhancing your gameplay experience.

How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker

To earn Abyss Stones, you must defeat Crowns, challenging bosses found behind gates in the Overgrowth. Before facing them, collect Prism, which are marked with yellow diamonds on the map.

Abyss Stones are key for meta-progression, allowing you to upgrade your Sycom's stats and unlock new characters. These upgrades happen during loadout confirmation, just before entering the Overgrowth, giving you an edge in future runs.

How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker

Keys can be found occasionally in small containers within the Overgrowth. These containers are not typically marked on the map, making Keys a bit tricky to find.

Use Keys to bypass barriers in the Overgrowth, granting access to Stashes and other lootable containers. They're also your ticket into Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and collectibles.

How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker

MediGems are crucial and can be obtained from small glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They're exchanged for Medkits when deploying from the Hub's Telepad or visiting Shrines in the Overgrowth.

Before using MediGems, you need to expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker

Cores, another meta-progression resource, can be found in Stashes within the Overgrowth, marked with chest icons on the map. Alternatively, combine four Core Shards to obtain a Core. These shards come from defeating enemies that drop Prisms (marked with yellow diamonds) or from unmarked lootable objects like bone piles.

Use Cores to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, enhancing your Breakers' stats for better performance.

How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker

Materials are mainly collected by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked with gems on the map. You can also gain some Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.

Use Materials to buy gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth. While similar to Bright Blood, Materials have more specific uses, focusing primarily on gear acquisition.
