First up is Cloudspire Coordinator, an uncommon creature that embodies the essence of Aetherdrift's red-white color pairing. This card represents the Cloudspire Racing Team from the plane of Kylem, first introduced in Magic's 2018 set, Battlebond. With a focus on vehicles and piloting, Cloudspire Coordinator's 3 power allows it to crew vehicles itself, while its activated ability generates Pilot token creatures to do the job for you. This card could be a strategic asset in red-white decks during Aetherdrift drafts.
Next, we unveil the rare enchantment, Count on Luck. This 3-mana card, with its all-red-pip casting cost, introduces an "impulse draw" mechanic. At the start of each of your turns, you exile the top card of your library and can play it during that turn. This feature offers a consistent flow of extra cards for mono-red decks, provided you can utilize them immediately. It's a straightforward yet powerful addition to your arsenal.
We're also excited to showcase Count on Luck in its extended-art and First-Place Foil versions. While the extended-art treatment expands the art beyond the traditional card frame, the First-Place Foils bring something entirely new to Aetherdrift. These golden, shimmering cards are exclusively available in a randomized buy-a-box promo pack included with every box of Aetherdrift. All rares in the set, along with 10 full-art lands, will receive this special treatment.
Aetherdrift is set to launch on February 14, with prerelease events starting on February 7. You can dive deeper into the set's mechanics here. Get ready to race across the multiverse with Aetherdrift!
