"Minecraft Movie Lego Sets Reveal Mobs for Jack Black Film"

Lego has unveiled a new range of sets inspired by the upcoming live-action film, "A Minecraft Movie," starring Jack Black as Steve. These sets offer a sneak peek at some of the mobs and scenes fans can anticipate in the movie. According to Games Radar, two sets have been announced so far: the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and The Ghast Balloon Village Attack. These sets will complement the existing collection of regular Minecraft Lego sets and feature figures such as Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's character, The Garbage Man.

The Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring set, priced at $49.99 and containing 491 pieces, hints at a thrilling gladiator-style battle scene in the film. It portrays Jason Momoa's The Garbage Man engaged in combat with a zombie riding a giant chicken. The scale of this setup remains ambiguous—it could represent a baby zombie on a regular-sized chicken, but the ensemble stands about twice as tall as The Garbage Man. The set also includes figures of Steve, his friend Henry, and a giant zombie pigman, alongside a fighting ring, a gold-filled chest, and a small viewing stand equipped with weapons.

The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set, retailing at $69.99 with 555 pieces, indicates that the Nether's iconic marshmallow-like villain, the Ghast, will also feature in the film. This set suggests a large battle scene set in an overworld village, including a village minifigure, two piglins, Steve, characters named Natalie and Dawn, and an iron golem. Both sets will be available starting March 1, just a month before "A Minecraft Movie" premieres in theaters on April 4.

The film, officially unveiled in September, faced immediate backlash from fans concerned about the visual discrepancy between live-action characters and the green-screen-generated animated world. One fan even took the initiative to recreate the trailer in a fully animated format. In response to the criticism, the director and producer, during an interview with IGN in November, acknowledged the feedback but assured fans that they were "ready for everything," indicating their preparedness to address any challenges and deliver a captivating cinematic experience.
