Since the launch of *Star Trek: Discovery* in 2017, the franchise has continued to expand in exciting ways, culminating recently with *Star Trek: Section 31* on Paramount+. While *Section 31* didn't meet all expectations, it has had its moments, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the best offerings in the *Star Trek* universe.
With the varying reception to *Section 31* and the acclaimed success of *Strange New Worlds*, it's an opportune moment for fans to voice their opinions on the modern era *Star Trek* series. Although *Section 31* is technically a movie, we're including it in our rankings because it initially began as a planned series.
You have the chance to create your own tier list and compare it with the IGN community. Do you believe *Strange New Worlds* should hold the top spot? Or does *Discovery* deserve a higher ranking than its current D grade? It's all up to you!
### Star Trek Series of the Modern Era
Personally, I found the third season of *Picard* to be exceptional, redeeming the earlier seasons and earning a solid A in my book. *Prodigy* also holds a special place in my heart, serving as a delightful sequel to *Voyager* that I didn't even know I needed. I'd rate it at least a B, if not higher!
Feel free to take a look at my tier list below, and then explore how you can watch *Star Trek* in chronological order, the latest updates on the *Star Trek* live-action comedy and *Starfleet Academy* series, and our analysis of what happened with *Star Trek 4*.
