Marvel enthusiasts eager to see more of Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight in the MCU will be pleased to know that the character is set to return, though not in the form of a second season of the Disney+ series. According to Brad Winderbaum, head of Marvel Television, the division has shifted its strategy since the release of Moon Knight in 2022. Previously, the focus was on introducing characters through their own TV shows, which would then tie into future projects, as seen with Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel before her appearance in The Marvels.
Now, Marvel Television is adopting a more traditional television model, aiming for annual releases of shows. Winderbaum explained, "So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."
While Oscar Isaac lent his voice to Moon Knight in the third and final season of the Disney+ animated series Marvel’s What If…?, there's no confirmed news yet on his return in live-action.
Looking ahead, the MCU's upcoming TV show lineup includes "Daredevil: Born Again" in March, "Ironheart" in June, "Eyes of Wakanda" in August, "Marvel Zombies" in October, and "Wonder Man" in December. However, last week, Marvel Television reportedly paused development on three shows: "Nova," "Strange Academy," and "Terror, Inc." On a brighter note, Winderbaum hinted at the potential for a reunion of the street-level heroes from "Daredevil," "Luke Cage," "Jessica Jones," and "Iron Fist," collectively known as The Defenders.
