While it won't boost your combat level, fishing provides a quick and safe way to earn money and acquire rare items without engaging in combat.

How to Fish in NieR: Automata

Fishing is accessible in almost any body of water, even shallow areas. Simply stand still in the water; a fishing prompt will appear above your character. Hold the button to cast your Pod. Fishing uses a single button:

After casting, wait for the Pod to be fully submerged with a distinct "plop" sound. Quickly press the reel-in button. Reaction time is crucial; a delayed response means losing your catch.
