Classes, Ascendancies, & Builds
While players can freely equip gear, skills, and passive skills in PoE 2 as long as they meet the requirements, classes form the foundation of your build. Each class starts at a different point on the Passive Skill Tree, guiding players toward passives that complement that archetype.
Path of Exile 2 plans to have 12 classes, but only six are available during Early Access. The Ascendancy system is already implemented, allowing each class to choose from powerful and permanent skill trees that enhance the normal Passive Skill Tree.
