Mark your calendars! Niantic announced the dates and locations for the much-anticipated Pokémon GO Fest 2025 on January 6, 2025. This thrilling three-day event will span across three vibrant cities on different dates. Here’s where and when you can join the fun:
Stay tuned for more details coming in March, but remember, all upcoming events are subject to change. We’ll keep you in the loop with any updates.

Pokémon GO Fest is the ultimate global event for trainers worldwide, offering exclusive access to unique items, gameplay, and bonuses. Whether you participate online or join the in-person festivities in different cities around the globe, a ticket purchase is required. In-person events bring a special charm as you explore the hosting city.
A major highlight is the chance to encounter rare Pokémon not typically available through regular gameplay. The 2024 event introduced Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Additionally, certain Pokémon have an increased chance of appearing in Shiny form, depending on their habitats within the hosting city.

For those attending in-person, exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed sets, and community hubs await. Team lounges also provide a space for trainers to connect with fellow members. While details for the 2025 event are still forthcoming, expect a similar experience to past festivities.

In addition to Pokémon GO Fest 2025, Niantic has announced two exciting events for January: Fashion Week: Taken Over and Shadow Raid Day.
Fashion Week: Taken Over offers players the chance to rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni. The event also introduces Shroodle and Grafaiai, available by hatching 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokémon, like Snivy and Tepig, will also make appearances. Keep an eye out for a fashion week-themed Croagunk when taking snapshots.

Shadow Raid Day gives trainers the opportunity to battle and catch Shadow Ho-Oh in Five-Star Shadow Raids. A $5 USD ticket provides eight extra Raid Passes, an increased chance of obtaining Rare Candy XL, double Stardust, and 50% more XP from Raid Battles. Shiny Ho-Oh encounters are more likely, and lucky trainers can teach Ho-Oh its signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.
