Pokémon Legends: Z-A's August 2025 Release Date Surfaces in Leak
A potential release date for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has emerged, hinting at an August 15, 2025 launch. This date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.
Revealed during the February 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is the anticipated sequel to 2022's Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Building on its predecessor's exploration-focused gameplay, it's expected to maintain the open-ended experience and collectible focus, foregoing traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, official details have been scarce.
The Amazon UK listing, quickly amended to a December 31 placeholder, fueled speculation. This leak, highlighted by content creator Light88, adds weight to the August 15th possibility.
February 2025 Confirmation Possible
While the leaked date remains unconfirmed, an official announcement is likely imminent. Similar to its initial unveiling during Pokémon Day 2024, the release date could be revealed during the 2025 event, scheduled for February 27th – the anniversary of the original Pokémon Red and Green releases. This date has been corroborated by a dataminer analyzing the latest Pokémon GO build.
Beyond the release date, fans eagerly await a gameplay reveal, another strong contender for a February 27th unveiling during the Pokémon Presents broadcast.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A, initially confirmed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon titles have featured paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
