Where\'s Potato? offers a new entry in the prop hunt genre, out now on android

Mar 05,2025 Author: Olivia

Where's Potato? is a new mobile game that joins the increasingly popular prop hunt genre. Players take turns being either a potato (hiding) or a seeker (finding). The potato can even fight back using chili peppers to burn seekers!

Visually, Where's Potato? isn't groundbreaking, presenting a straightforward 3D environment—a typical suburban home—where the potato hides. The gameplay is simple: the potato evades seekers, and burning three seekers wins the game for the potato.

While a commendable effort for a solo developer, Where's Potato?'s success may be limited. The prop hunt genre thrives on social platforms and as game modes within larger titles. Standing alone as a single download might prove challenging.

A Solid Attempt

Despite potential limitations, Where's Potato? is a respectable achievement, especially considering the challenges of creating functional multiplayer in a solo project. The developer, gamesbynav, shows promise, and it will be interesting to see their future work.
