Relic Entertainment, the studio behind Company of Heroes, is branching out with a new turn-based strategy game: Earth vs. Mars. This smaller-scale title, launching this Summer on PC (Steam), pits humanity against a Martian invasion. Players utilize the Splice-O-Tron to create unique creature-human hybrids – think Squirrel-Cows and Human-Rhinos – to defend Earth. Gameplay draws inspiration from the classic Advance Wars.
According to Relic, Martians have secretly been harvesting human and animal "atomic essence." Now, a full-scale invasion is underway, and players lead Earth's resistance against Martian saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien soldiers.

Earth vs. Mars boasts a 30+ mission single-player campaign, online multiplayer (playable as either Earth or Mars), a VS Mode against the AI, and a map editor.
Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell stated, "We're thrilled to put a Relic spin on the Advance Wars formula, incorporating our signature style while drawing inspiration from past titles." This marks a new strategy for Relic: alongside their established RTS games, they'll be developing smaller, indie-style projects to explore new genres and release games more often.
