Conquer Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake: A Comprehensive Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia, the Everbird, you're ready to challenge Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. This formidable dungeon serves as a crucial test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair in the HD-2D Remake.

Baramos's Lair houses the Archfiend Baramos, the primary antagonist of Dragon Quest 3 Remake's first half. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia, who transports you to the lair's valley. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before tackling this challenge. The dungeon holds valuable items, detailed in the sections below.

Reaching Baramos's Lair

Following the Maw of the Necrogond and acquisition of the Silver Orb, Ramia becomes available. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or Necrogond Shrine. North of Necrogond Shrine lies a mountainous island—Baramos's Lair. Ramia will deposit you near the entrance.

Navigating Baramos's Lair

Baramos's Lair differs from typical dungeons. Instead of linear progression, it involves traversing indoor and outdoor areas to reach Baramos. The main outdoor hub, "Surroundings," is the central point between structures. Below is the main path to the boss fight, with treasure locations detailed separately.

Main Path to Baramos:

  1. From the overworld entrance, bypass the main door. Head east, towards the northeast pool.
  2. Ascend the stairs near the pool, turn west, and climb another set of stairs. Enter the door on the right (Eastern Tower).
  3. Reach the Eastern Tower's top and exit.
  4. Traverse the castle roof southwest, descend, continue west, and pass through the gaps in the northwest double wall. Use the northwest stairs.
  5. Enter the Central Tower. Use "Safe Passage" to cross electrified floor panels and descend to B1 Passageway A.
  6. In B1 Passageway A, turn east and proceed to the eastern stairs.
  7. Enter the South-East Tower. Ascend the northeast stairs to the roof, head west, descend, cross the grass northwest, and enter the door.
  8. Exit the Central Tower (second time) to B1 Passageway B. Proceed north and ascend the stairs.
  9. Enter the Throne Room. Avoid floor panels and exit south.
  10. Return to "Surroundings." Head east from the Throne Room (northwest) to Baramos's Den (northeast island) for the boss fight.
