Initially released in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Resident Evil 6 received a remastered edition in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This new listing strongly suggests a further port, likely also for PlayStation 5, though official confirmation is pending.

Speculation abounds regarding the differences between this new version and the previous remaster. Currently, the only visible alteration is in the game's genre description. The ESRB now categorizes it as "survival horror," a shift from the earlier "third-person shooter" designation. Further details are anticipated in a future official reveal.

Beyond this potential remaster, fans eagerly await news of Resident Evil 9, rumored to be set four years after the events of Resident Evil Village.
