The Samsung 990 Evo Plus is a fantastic choice for both your gaming PC and PlayStation 5. It easily surpasses Sony's minimum speed requirements for the PS5, boasting sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,250 MB/s and 6,300 MB/s respectively. While not quite as fast as the 990 Pro, it's a major upgrade over the standard 990 Evo. The key difference? This drive is DRAM-less. For PS5 gaming, this makes absolutely no difference. On PCs, the 990 Evo Plus utilizes HMB (host memory buffer), cleverly using a negligible amount of your system RAM to compensate—gamers won't see any performance impact.
