Stellar Blade Update Causes Game-Breaking Bugs
Devs Now Working On Hotfix Patch
Stellar Blade's latest update, Patch 1.009, not only brought fans the long-awaited Photo Mode and exciting NieR: Automata collaboration DLC but also introduced several game-breaking bugs. Players have encountered a softlock when attempting to progress through a particular main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing them from moving forward. Additionally, there have been reports of the game crashing when using the selfie camera in Photo Mode, and issues with new cosmetic items failing to render correctly on Eve.
Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix patch to address these problems. They advise players against forcing quest progression, as doing so could lead to a permanent softlock even after the patch is released. It's best to wait patiently for the hotfix to ensure a smooth gaming experience.
NieR: Automata DLC and Photo Mode

Patch 1.009 for Stellar Blade is packed with exciting new content, including the much-celebrated collaboration with NieR: Automata. As shared on the PlayStation Blog, NieR: Automata served as a significant inspiration for Stellar Blade. This collaboration, a result of the mutual respect and creativity between Directors Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro, has led to the inclusion of 11 exclusive items. To access these, players need to find NieR character Emil, who has set up shop within Stellar Blade's world to offer these unique goods.
Given the game's stunning graphics and captivating characters, it's no surprise that fans have been eager to capture personalized snapshots. Shift Up has fulfilled this long-standing wish by introducing Photo Mode in the latest update. This feature allows players to pose protagonist Eve and her companions for memorable photos. To encourage the use of Photo Mode, the game also introduces new photo challenge requests.
Complementing the Photo Mode, Eve now has four new outfits and a new accessory, which becomes available after completing a specific ending and can alter the appearance of Tachy Mode. Additionally, a "No Ponytail" option has been added to the ponytail length settings, offering more customization for Eve's appearance. Other enhancements include lip-sync support for six additional voice-over languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
