Smite 2 Now Free-to-Play: Enjoy the Game Without Cost

If you’re a fan of Smite 2, you’re in luck because the free-to-play open beta is finally here. Available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via both Steam and Epic Games Store), and even the Steam Deck, this sequel to the popular MOBA is now accessible to everyone. Following a successful closed alpha phase, Titan Forge Games has opened the gates to a whole new world of gods, gameplay modes, and features.

One of the standout additions in the open beta is the return of the beloved 3v3 Joust mode, a fan favorite from the original Smite. Additionally, the developers have introduced a new Arthurian-themed map and made updates to the classic Conquest map. An early version of the Assault mode is also included, offering players a fresh way to dive into the action.

Aladdin, a god crafted exclusively for Smite 2, makes his debut alongside four other deities: Geb, the Egyptian God of Earth; Mulan, the Chinese warrior; Agni, from the Hindu pantheon; and Ullr, the Norse god. Aladdin stands out with his unique abilities, such as wall running and reviving after death thanks to his companion’s three wishes. His ultimate ability allows him to summon a lamp that captures enemies for a 1v1 showdown—a nod to his legendary tales.

The open beta also introduces Aspects, optional enhancements for certain gods, adding another layer of strategy to the game. Titan Forge Games' creative director emphasized that Smite 2 surpasses its predecessor in numerous aspects, thanks to feedback from the closed alpha community. They promised exciting and ambitious content for 2025, keeping players eagerly anticipating what’s next.

While Smite 2 is available on most major platforms, Nintendo Switch users won’t be able to join the fray just yet. The developers cited concerns over hardware performance, but they remain open to potentially porting the game to the upcoming Switch 2. For now, eager players can dive into the open beta and experience Smite 2’s refined visuals, combat mechanics, and item shop system, which lets players choose items based on strategy rather than god classification.

With its diverse roster of gods, returning fan-favorite modes, and innovative features, Smite 2 is set to captivate both newcomers and seasoned players alike. So, what are you waiting for? Download it today and join the battle!
