Squid Game: Unleashed\'s release date unveiled alongside new trailer

Netflix's hit show Squid Game is getting a mobile game adaptation, Squid Game: Unleashed, launching December 17th for iOS and Android. A new trailer showcases the bloody, yet amusing, competition.

This multiplayer game pits players against friends and strangers in iconic (and some new) death games from the series. It aims to capitalize on the show's popularity, arriving just before Season 2's December 26th premiere. Pre-registration is open now!

The irony of a show about dehumanization and death-as-entertainment becoming a multiplayer game isn't lost on us. However, from a business perspective, it's a smart move for Netflix. A dedicated multiplayer audience could boost user retention, even if some viewers aren't interested in other Netflix offerings.
